The 5 places where you should try a typical Berliner brunch in Berlin
1) Café Morgenrot
One of the last authentic spots on the heavily gentrified Kastanienallee. There used to be a lot of open venues called Kollektiv in Berlin but unfortunately, they are quickly disappearing. Café Morgenrot still (but barely!) survives. They serve a very good and cheap brunch at the weekend. Bring your punk attitude!
2) Café Mugrabi
One of the nicest places for a post-clubbing breakfast or a Sunday brunch is Café Mugrabi. The food is inspired by the Israeli and North-African cuisine. Try the shakshuka (a special tomato dish with poached eggs) and the hummus, they are delicious.

3) Silo Coffee
Silo works with a local speciality coffee roastery called Fjord. With its minimalistic design and wooden furniture inside and outside, it is a great place to go before or after a poke-around the flea market in Boxi (Boxhagener Platz). They serve one of Berlin's best breakfasts and/or brunches.

4) Tomasa Villa Kreuzberg
Tomasa has been elected as one of the best breakfast restaurants in Berlin by Prinz magazine. The nineteenth-century red brick fairytale villa is located near the fantastic Victoriapark and it also has a beautiful courtyard and view on a little zoo. It’s also extremely child friendly.
5) Benedict
Benedict was already an über-cool breakfast-only place in Tel-Aviv when the owners decided to open a branch in Berlin. It’s located on the ground floor of the hip Max Brown hotel. Their eggs Benedict are – unsurprisingly – legendary. Insanely popular with locals and tourists alike. You can also order mouthwatering picnics from their own bakery which you can enjoy in one of the many nearby Berlin parks.
