Vinyl lovers will not be disappointed in Berlin's offering. These 5 great vinyl stores are packed with hidden treasures, obscure records and one-of-a-kind lp's. Whether you're looking for disco, hiphop or something called German krautrock, you'll have fun digging around in these record shops.
The 5 coolest vinyl stores in Berlin
1) Melting Point Record Store
The interior of this shop is very basic but that’s okay because music is what’s it all about, more specifically house, disco and boogie. Fans of those genres will be able to spend hours here, digging for the perfect record.
2) 33rpm Store
33rpm store is a small but truly nice shop inside the cafe Mukkefukk in the Kreuzberg district. Here you’ll find both second-hand and new records, but the store specialises in used vinyl records for collectors. They also regularly host live concerts here.
3) OYE Records
One of the biggest vinyl stores in town with an incredibly varied music selection. They often host in-store sessions: a mix of live performances and DJ sets that never disappoint. Entry is free.
One of the nicest shops around Boxhagener Platz. The service is friendly and the selection is eclectic with a focus on reggae and hiphop. You can also find a lot of obscure German krautrock if that’s what you’re looking for. The interior is anything but fancy but the records are very well sorted.
5) Audio-In Used Record Store
Located near the famous techno temple Berghain, this is the place to be if you’re looking for used drum-‘n-bass records, house, electro, techno and even Italo disco. Owner Martin Rieser used to sell vinyl on the flea markets for years; now the shelves in his shop carry over 5000 titles. Decent prices and clean records.
