The 5 most unexpected places to have fun

1) Chinatown Olympiades

Chinatown Olympiades is the place for you if you like an exotic taste and cultural experience. After having enjoyed some dumplings and Peking duck, it’s time for some music and karaoke. The songs keep on coming in every possible language from English to French, Khmer and Chinese of course. The atmosphere is amazing.

2) Le Zéro Zéro

The DJs in this tiny underground bar only mix vinyl. The parties are always interesting thanks to the wide variety of musical styles. Dance, drink cocktails and watch videos on a vintage TV.

3) Le Point Ephémère

This amazing cultural centre along Canal Saint-Martin hosts concerts, performances, festivals, parties, encounters and a lot of other unusual events. Also a great place for lunch, dinner, brunch or a drink by the water.

4) La Recyclerie

This former train station has been converted into an ‘eco-friendly’ space. The bar-restaurant offers organic food and the repair workshop gives stuff a second lease on life. Enjoy the tranquillity and green surroundings of the outside, where you can explore an urban farm with a poultry-yard and a community garden.

5) Café A

This atypical place, which is in a former convent near gare de l’Est, is the perfect place to read, away from the crowds and their enquiring glances. Find a deckchair in the cloister, the garden or check out the former chapel. You can also attend concerts in the chapel.
