2) Sotheby's

So much valuable art passes through Sotheby’s that it’s worth the trek to the East River – you never know what you might find. Head to the auction rooms on the second floor to marvel at this month’s selection of fine and decorative art, jewelry, and collectibles.

3) Salon 94

Right off Museum Mile is a beautiful mansion which allows you to admire the building as well as the art inside. The sprawling, 17.500-square-foot space plays up its original architectural elements – like its sweeping spiral staircase, enhanced by an 86-foot chandelier and beautiful parquet flooring. The museum is small, so works as a quick add-on to your other major museums in the area.
