5 of the best rooms with a view
1) The Tides
With interiors by Kelly Wearstler and exteriors by Mother Nature, The Tides is positioned to capture every ocean sunrise and sunset. When established in 1936, it was the tallest in Miami Beach. With a recessed façade, tall ceilings and huge windows, it still offers only 45 rooms from which to catch prime views.
2) Carillon Miami Wellness Resort
Perched on the edge of North Beach, the Carillon offers a bastion of beautiful sights that are accompanied only by the sighing of ocean waves. One- or two-bedroom suites allow guests enough space to soak in the views as they also practice the wellness routines they learn from on-staff experts.
3) Mondrian South Beach
Perched on the lip of land where the General Douglas MacArthur Causeway (I-395) kisses West Avenue, the Mondrian allows cosmic views of ocean and sky. Whether clear or stormy, it’s always a performance out there, and every room at this dramatically designed hotel offers a front seat to it.
4) Sagamore Miami Beach
An all-suite hotel, the Sagamore is heavily invested in the visual arts scene. That’s why suites are named after what you might see from them, such as the ‘Garden View’ – a lush landscape that lights up at night – or the ‘Ocean Lanai’, where the 750-foot balcony permits precious moments with the beach and ocean.
5) Intercontinental Miami
The 34-story InterContinental pre-dates downtown Miami’s renaissance. And while the stimulating views of Biscayne Bay have never changed, downtown now includes architecturally interesting arenas, museums, amphitheaters and parks. Even the hotel itself has LED artwork flashing on its side. No matter which direction you look, there’s something exciting to see.
