5 of the best shops for trendy miami clothing
1) U-Rock Couture
Open since the mid-1990s on Ocean Drive, this rock culture-inspired clothing store – as implied by the double entendre name – offers stud-worthy duds and accessories. In many cases, those are literal studs or other embellishments. Get-you-noticed labels here for men and women include BB Simon, King Baby and Robin.
2) The Webster
Named for the 1935 Art Deco building in which the flagship store is housed, The Webster is an assemblage of unique designer fashion items for both men and women. Owner Laure Heriard Dubreuil debuted a second Webster in Bal Harbour in 2013.
3) MIMO Market
MIMO was founded by two Miami home-girls, Lisa Tam and Leilani Sanchez, who both went to Florida State University to study fashion merchandising. Those choices pay off in this funky, street-smart shop, where every item is hand-chosen from independent designers or brands that inspire them.
4) Golden Bar
This apparel-meets-accessories-greets- home design store has its flagship store at a double address in Coconut Grove and a third location in Wynwood. If that sounds confusing, no worries. What’s not complicated is how easy the clothing is to love. For women, there’s plenty of hippie- chic separates and sexy dresses; for men, cool dude concert-attending duds.
