1) I.J. Mellis

2) Bowhouse Market

Bowhouse wanted to plug that gap between farm and fork, and has created a dedicated space each month, where the best producers and growers can get in front of the public who are looking for the best-quality produce. You can expect a lovely atmosphere in a covered space, so you can take your time and enjoy, even in the wettest of days. Coffee roasters, organic veg, artisan breads, fish, oils and quality-butchered meat is just some of what you’ll find here. A foodie heaven.

3) Isle of Mull Cheese

The family-run business produces award-winning cheese on the Isle of Mull. Their own heard is milked in the morning on Sgriob-ruadh Farm and sent straight over to the cheese making vat. You can then experience the maturing stage in their cellar. The glass garden barn is brilliant, serving up their artisan cheese amongst other fresh options on the menu and the farm shop stocks quality produce that should definitely be taken home.

4) Auchentullich Farm Shop

You could drive by Auchentullich a hundred times and not realise what a gem you’ve passed. This foodie family are fifth-generation dairy farmers who decided to diversify in 2012. The result is terrific, with fresh locally sourced veg, cheeses, and Highland beef reared on the farm. Their ice cream is also excellent with unusual flavours like sea buckthorn and cranachan. In the winter they serve mulled wine heated on top of a wood-burning stove. Adorable! Not to be missed when passing on the A82.
