1) La Cofradía Pescadores
This traditional restaurant, referring to the fishermen’s guild and situated right by the dock, is one of the most popular in Puerto de la Cruz. Famous for serving the purest fish and seafood, you can either sit inside or enjoy the colourful harbour vistas on the large exterior terrace. Notice the nearby cute bronze statue of the shouting female fishmonger.
2) Restaurante Playa Casa África
At some 100 kilometres from the South, this eatery is worth the trip. The food, though simple, tasty and fresh, is second to driving through the awesome Anaga biosphere reserve and finding this stunning coastal area in the upper north-eastern corner of the island. Casa África is totally in tune with this very authentic part of Tenerife. A must-go.
3) La Pimienta
This venue has over 30 years of experience and is extremely popular with residents. Upon entering you pick your fish and decide whether you want it grilled, boiled or fried. Vieja, Bocinegro, Medregal, Cabrilla, Salmonete are but a few names of the typical choice at hand. Famous is also the accompanying avocado salad. Take special notice of their opening times.
