Unusual places to eat in Malta
1) Chocolate District

Besides the international varieties of chocolate on offer, you can taste the local variant as well. While sampling and appreciating the goods, enjoy a coffee or another drink in the small and intimate cafeteria.
2) Ambrosia
Situated right in the centre of Valletta, next to the Grand Master’s Palace, Ambrosia offers a dining experience with a twist. The ambience is different and particular for Valletta. The food is delicious and the portions sizeable. After lunch, you can continue to explore Valletta, or if you had dinner, enjoy a relaxing walk through Valletta’s streets.

3) Cafee Jubilee
The original concept was introduced in Gozo, and since then, a number of other outlets have opened, with a couple abroad as well. The interior decoration is different than usual, with an old, nostalgic feel, with posters of theatre productions, adverts as well as items hanging from the ceiling or on shelves. The food is good, different and very tasty as well. This outlet has tables inside as well as outside seating in the main square of Victoria.
4) Del Borgo
The quiet narrow streets of Vittoriosa have a number of different locations where you can stop for a good meal. This particular wine bar and eatery in an old building is unique. It provides a different kind of seating – for those who are sitting down to a meal and for those who are there to socialise around a bottle or two of good wine, with some cheese and other nibbles. Very popular with the locals.
5) Il Veduta Pizzeria and Restaurant
What a magnificent view this place has, overlooking a good part of Malta. While the view at lunch is great, it’s even better at night with the twinkling lights of the surrounding villages. In summer, you may even catch one of the fireworks displays that are organised during the village feasts. A good menu, that caters to everyone’s taste.
