Hotel pools to dream about
1) Delano South Beach
Miami, United States
The Delano is famous for its long, mostly shallow pool, which has cafe furniture actually immersed in it. In addition to admiring designer Philippe Starck’s tropically landscaped quirkiness, you can book spa treatments or have a meal and a cocktail next to it. Hotel guests only until 7 pm.

2) Manon Les Suites
Copenhagen, Denmark
The exclusive five-star Manon Les Suites describes itself as both, ‘a jungle paradise,’ and, ‘a slice of Bali in the heart of Copenhagen.’ In other words, this high-end Vesterbro hotel is both super posh and warmly exotic. Unlike any other stay in the city, Manon Les Suites offers guests premium amenities, lush greenery, a rooftop terrace, and access to their signature ‘Junglefish pool.’

3) Juliana
Brussels, Belgium
This small luxury hotel opened in 2021 on a forgotten square dedicated to the heroes of the Belgian revolution. Discreetly hidden behind a neoclassical façade, the 43-room hotel has been shaped by Italian designer Eugenio Manzoni to create a sublime urban retreat. The elegant guest rooms come with unique touches, including painted wallpaper, frescoes and paintings from the owner’s private collection. The swimming pool in the basement adds a further touch of luxury.

4) CODA Williamsburg
New York, United States
This stylish boutique hotel is popular with both Brooklynites and travelers because of the heated outdoor pool. Hotel guests and non-hotel guests can make reservations for the pool and enjoy the full-service bar and crafted cocktail menu. The vibe is great but it can become a very lively and a bit noisy get-together.

5) Hotel Viu Milan
Milan, Italy
This recently-opened hotel boasts the most sought-after rooftop terrace with a bar and swimming pool of the moment, but it’s exclusively reserved for clients and some private events. The eight floors, with 124 rooms, spa and hall, are all designed by Molteni. Chef Giancarlo Morelli runs the restaurant.

6) The Tawny
Consall, United Kingdom
The Tawny has all the trappings of a luxury hotel stay, but it just looks a little different. Instead of one hotel building, it’s a 70-acre estate with rooms and facilities dotted throughout the landscape, overlooking woodlands and lakes. The heart of the Tawny is the Plumicorn, near reception and an outdoor heated swimming pool, where guests will find a restaurant and a bar. Bedrooms come in the form of huts, treehouses, boathouses and lookouts. They all have outdoor spa baths and peaceful private settings.

7) 1 Hotel West Hollywood
Los Angeles, United States
Made with 75 tons of wood from fallen trees and operating with LEED Silver certification, this hotel chain has a commitment to sustainability down to the details (the hangers are made of recycled materials). It’s also a great location with a lot of green (plants!) as well as sweeping views and a rooftop restaurant.

8) Frost & Fire Hotel
Hveragerði, Iceland
Near Hveragerði’s geothermal river, Varmá is a boutique hotel that offers its guests a lavish stay using subterranean energy. Riverside hot tubs, a relaxing sauna, and an outdoor pool are all among the hotel’s luxurious amenities. Its sleek interior is decorated with captivating works by local artists, while outside, the steamy volcanic hillsides of Reykjadalur promise excellent hiking trails. Surrounding farmsteads provide the ingredients for the onsite Varmá Restaurant’s à la carte dishes. |
