1) Kottee Kaffee
Located down a quiet side street, this hidden coffee house has a trendy interior with a pale wood floor, designer furniture and a long reading table. It’s a relaxed spot where locals drop in for a flat white, a special tea or a healthy brunch with seven types of bread, local eggs, two types of ham and homemade jams.
Margaux and Bram gave up their South African B&B in 2015 to open this hipster kitchen and bar on ’t Zand. The kitchen gets most of its supplies from small farms around Bruges, including the owners’ own organic farm. The healthy brunch menu features organic juices, a homemade granola mix and veggie burgers.
This little brunch cafe occupies a former shop with an old tiled floor and polished wooden counter. The interior is decorated in a retro Flemish style with vintage crockery, a gramophone and those prickly house plants known as sanseveria. The menu lists a range of bagels, along with apple waffles and scones.
4) Le Pain De Sebastien
Sebastien Cailliau studied the art of baking bread in France before opening a bakery in Bruges in 2014. He has transformed an old brick house into a hip spot with white walls, industrial lamps and a long breakfast table in the back. His team bake tasty sourdough loaves and authentic baguettes.
5) That’s Toast
This hip Nordic-style brunch spot is decorated with white walls, spiky plants and bare light bulbs. The kitchen offers an all-day breakfast featuring healthy options like fresh juice, granola, and smoked salmon and avocado on toast. There’s also a small walled garden at the back.
