5 spots for meat lovers in San Francisco
1) 4505 Burger & BBQ
Enjoy plates of smoked meats, like pulled pork, chicken, beef brisket, sausage and ribs, then choose your sides, like the frankaroni and a bag of chicharrones. For a party of 6, order The Presidential which includes all the meats and sides on the menu. Enjoy it all in the outdoor patio or order to-go.
Chef Chris Cosentino is a master of butchery and he leaves no parts wasted. There are traditional cuts and servings, but the menu offers dishes like beef heart tartare, oven roasted pig’s head and the Butcher’s Choice, which is a medley of ‘fall offs’ from the day. Be adventurous. It’s all delicious.
One of the best bistro spots with tasty, meaty favorites like their infamous Marlowe Burger, steak tartare, juicy ribeye and bone marrow. And plenty of other non-meat dishes, too – the brown butter Brussels sprouts chips and warm deviled eggs especially. Bright space, brilliant decor, it has the feeling of an ornate little butcher’s shop.
4) Roli Roti
Anytime you see this food truck, head right over. They spit-roast delicious, slow-cooked meats, but it’s truly about the porchetta sandwich here. It’s piled high with juicy and crispy slices of pork and comes with caramelized onions and arugula. The potatoes absorb the meat drippings and are sprinkled with lavender sea salt.
5) Han II Kwan
For Korean barbeque enthusiasts or those wanting to try it, this is the best spot in SF. You can have your meat served pre-cooked, or you can choose to grill it yourself at your table. The latter is the way to go. And enjoy it with all the side dishes brought to your table.
