The 5 best places for a healthy meal in Lisbon
1) The Food Temple
Chef Alice Ming opened a vegan restaurant on a secluded, intimate and stunning dead end square in the decadent Mouraria district. The menu changes daily depending on what’s on offer at the market but it is invariably full of heart and creative. Be sure to book a table and ask to be seated on the square steps for an even richer experience.

2) Tibetanos
This Tibetan-inspired restaurant is open for lunch and dinner and is a favourite among health-minded locals. It’s one of the oldest veggie restaurants in the city and it is part of a cultural institution that includes a Buddhist school. The backyard terrace is a great option during warmer months.

3) Miss Saigon
Miss Saigon is a vegetarian restaurant that serves ‘world vegetarian cuisine’, with dishes inspired by the culinary traditions of both East and West. In 2015 Miss Saigon was named one of the 25 best vegetarian restaurants in the world by the website Daily Meal.

4) Jardim das Cerejas
This intimate restaurant, located on a quiet street just off busy Rua Garrett, on the way to Largo do Carmo, offers a daily vegetarian buffet for a very good price. It’s the favourite address of many international visitors.

5) Naked
Located right across the street from the Museum of Natural History and the Botanical Garden, Naked is an all-day restaurant and café that serves masterfully prepared natural foods, with veggie and non-veggie options, raw, gluten-free, cold pressed juices and 100% fruit popsicles. The beautiful décor fits into the picture of the hip neighbourhood.
