Taverne Sokrates is a slice of Greece in Vienna. From the terrace you can see the water of the Donau sparkle in the distance and with a bit of imagination
you can even think that you are at the seaside. The picture becomes even more perfect when the suflaki, squid and other Greek specialities arrive on your plate. A little like My Big Fat Greek Wedding!
Sansibar is like the African Island: colourful, loud and hot. It is situated near Taverne Sokrates so you can have dinner here and then go for a drink. The music
is a mix of Latin, hip-hop and reggaeton. A young crowd, globetrotters and Hawaras from Vienna have a good time in this beach club.
Porto Pollo is definitely not mainstream. It is located near the Donau where there is also a small harbour for motorboats, a porto. Drinks only. If you want barbecue you have to book beforehand. Reservations can only be made in person.
Wake_up is the restaurant and bar near Vienna’s one and only wakeboard lift. Enjoy the waterfront views and the acrobatics of the wakeboarders on Neue Donau, a branch of the Donau. A great place for a light snack or dinner with your feet in the sand. Breakfast till 1 pm, P&R and metro (U2) nearby.
This restaurant and lounge is situated on the 57th floor of Austria’s tallest building. Definitely the place with the most spectacular view of the Donauinsel and the city of Vienna. The bar is located on top of the restaurant. Here they serve 30 different cocktails, focussing on regional products like Wien Gin.
