5 nightclubs and lounges in Miami
1) Mr. Kream Ice Cream Lounge
Kids Rule Everything Around Me. Coowner Ari Kalimi, who is also DJ Affect, makes good on that acronym/motto by theming every ice-cream product in the shop to the hip-hop generation he serves. Enjoy flavors like ‘A$AP Rocky Road’ or ‘Snoopstachio’; this place is a hoot and delish to boot.

2) Villa Azur
This elegant Mediterranean restaurant and lounge is run by a partnership of nightlife veterans. Thus the entertainment programming is ever changing, from DJ sets to operatic performances to sax solos. Open since 2012, it’s dependable for fine dining on artichoke gnocchi and seat dancing the night away.

3) Brick
DJ Camilo. DJ Retrokidd. DJ Selecta Renegade. And so it goes. Graffiti art on the outside of the building; beats and craft beers of all nationalities inside, plus cocktails that change with the seasons – such as they are in the subtropics. Open until 3 am Wednesday to Sunday.

4) Mynt
It’s no secret that this long-running nightclub, luxe to the max, has one of the strictest door policies in town. If you want to dance to house music under those LED strobes with the other nightlife hoi polloi, it’s dress – or in the case of South Beach, un-dress – to impress.

5) Mr. Jones
One of the most decadent nightclubs on South Beach, Mr. Jones has kicked it up so high the partying is stratospheric. For aficionados who know their DJs, Purge Tuesdays and Varsity Fridays are all about hip-hop. But it’s the themed, music-driven bottle service parades that grab the attention of drinkers and listeners alike.
