1) Afrikaanderplein Market
All the world lives in Rotterdam, and the south bank without a doubt is the city’s most diverse neighbourhood. The market in Afrikaanderplein, on Wednesdays and Saturdays, is a hotchpotch of the city’s diverse communities and their culinary traditions.

2) Rotterdamse Oogstmarkt
Fresh bread, meat and vegetables: these and many other regionally grown or produced products are sold at this farmer’s market. It’s held every first Saturday of the month at Noordplein and every third Saturday at Heemraadsplein from 10 am until 5 pm.

3) Swan Market
The biggest monthly lifestyle market of Rotterdam has found a nice home in the historical Van Nelle Factory in the winter months, in spring and summer you’ll find them in Museumpark. On sale are loads of handmade, lovingly crafted items, second hand clothes and obscure antiquities. There are also plenty of food stalls.

4) Centre Market
Between 400 and 500 stalls are set up every Tuesday and Saturday at Binnen-rotte from 8 am to 5.30 pm, next to Blaak station and Markthal, making it one of the largest outdoor markets in the country. A wealth of fresh vegetables and fruits, meat and fish, nuts, tasty snacks and whatever else you can think of is for sale here.

5) Organic Market
Every Tuesday from 8.30 am to 5 pm there’s a small organic market at Eendrachtsplein. On offer are breads and pastries, dairy and cheese, vegetables and fruit, and meat. The organic produce is made with respect for nature, without pesticides and fertilisers.
