5 tasty cocktail joints in Dublin
1) Vintage Cocktail Club
This very exclusive cocktail bar doesn’t look like much from its front door, but that’s precisely the point. The hidden world inside offers fine dining, vintage surroundings and candle-lit tables, all very chic and refined. When it comes to Dublin cocktails, this is a secret to know.
2) 37 Dawson Street
This is pretty decadent stuff. The place is beautifully designed with incredible art, chandeliers and coloured glass. The cocktails are irresistible of course; the ones infused with chilli and/or egg yolk are a must-try. There’s also a respectable food menu and an impressive whiskey bar.
3) Peruke & Periwig
Alongside the usual bar drinks and food, Peruke & Periwig is a very highly regarded cocktail joint with an elaborate and inventive menu. Expect classy stuff across two floors, with dapper looking staff and portraitures of all sizes looking down on you. The venue has its very own library bar area as well.
4) The Blind Pig
Shhh, this one’s a bit of a secret. It’s basically an underground cocktail bar reminiscent of the 1920s speakeasies. The catch? It changes location every few months and you must make contact first through e-mail (email@example.com) and only then will you get directions to find the place. The Blind Pig is the brainchild of award-winning mixologist Paul Lambert.
The one with the flying umbrellas outside. Wines, cocktails, whiskeys and gins: Zozimus has it all. Some of the cocktails designed in-house though are not to be beaten. Try the Marshmallow Ramos for those with a sweet tooth or the Eucalyptus Flip for something very different.
