The 5 best places to purchase local Canadian design in Toronto
1) Vitaly on Yonge
Vitaly has skyrocketed since they appeared on a Canadian TV show called Dragons’ Den. The company has quickly become known for creating edgy unisex-designed jewellery and accessories. They began by creating wooden jewellery and then switched to stainless steel as their main material.

2) Hayley Elsaesser
Hayley Elsaesser creates fun and quirky fashion. Describing her own designs as bold, colourful and busy, she creates pieces that get noticed. It’s not the type of clothing you would wear to a black-tie event. Her designs appeal to a lot of young Torontonians.

3) Coal Miner's Daughter
The Coal Miner’s Daughter carries a variety of Canadian-made designs. You’ll find items from other parts of the world as well, but they like to focus on local design. There are five locations throughout the GTA. They sell clothing and accessories, as well as a small selection of beauty products.

4) 18 Waits
18 Waits can best be described as a very cool men’s clothing store. The owner is a designer and you will find bolts of cloth leaning against the wall. His patterns hang in the back change room. He sells a neat selection of boys clothing as well.

5) Eleven Thirty
Eleven Thirty was founded by two friends with a passion for design. The front of the store works as a regular retail enterprise, and the back of the store is their design studio; all leather bags are made in-house. They’ve just started selling clothing as well.
