5 great markets where you can find more than just food in Barcelona

1) Mercat del Born

The Born Market used to be just that: the place where the residents of Born neighbourhood went for fresh food. When the renovation started it was supposed to become a centre of gastronomy, filled with delicatessen. This plan changed when ruins of the medieval city were discovered. Those ruins are on display now, with a small museum about the War of Succession alongside them, plus a couple of cafes and stores. Beautiful on the outside, surprising on the inside.
